Air Source Heat Pumps
What Is an Air Source Heat Pump?
Air Source Heat Pumps absorb low temperature heat from the ambient air down to at least -15 degrees Celsius, and increases the temperature to heat your home and hot water.
Using ambient air is a renewable energy source and can be up to 350% more efficient than a fossil fuel boiler. For every 1kW of electricity consumed by the heat pump to move the heat, it can deliver 3kW of usable heat into the home or business.
Why should I install an Air Source Heat Pump?
Air source heat pumps are generally easier to install than other heat pump systems available and may require upgrades to your hot water cylinder, radiators and pipework. These upgrades make the system far more efficient which will reduce the running cost of your existing system.
Most existing central heating systems can be upgraded to accept an air source heat pump, or can be installed to supplement your existing boiler creating a hybrid air source heat pump system.
